SkyJuice Foundation has been awarded top honours at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award in Dubai, receiving first place in the Innovative Crisis Solutions category. This global recognition highlights our commitment and impact in providing safe, sustainable drinking water to crisis-affected communities around the world.
Held in June 2025 at the Emirates Towers, the prestigious awards ceremony celebrated global innovation in clean water solutions. Organised by the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia UAE) under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the event recognised 12 winners from eight countries, distributing USD $1 million in prize funding.
SkyJuice was recognised for our SkyHydrant Emergency Safe Water Solution. Already deployed in 74 countries, the SkyHydrant has become a critical tool in disaster response and humanitarian efforts, enabling immediate and reliable access to clean water for communities facing emergencies.
“This award is a powerful endorsement of our mission to deliver low-cost, high-impact water solutions to those who need them most,” said Rhett Butler. “It affirms our commitment to practical, scalable technologies that help build resilience and restore dignity in crisis situations.”
The Global Water Award was presented under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Speaking at the event, His Highness emphasised the importance of humanitarian innovation, stating:
“Our message is humanitarian, our tools are knowledge and innovation.”
SkyJuice’s recognition not only reinforces the vital role of Australian innovation in addressing global water security but also showcases how clean-energy-driven solutions can transform crisis response and climate resilience efforts.
The award follows another major milestone earlier this year, with SkyJuice named winner of the 2025 Zayed Sustainability Prize in the Water category. To be recognised with not one, but two of the world’s most prestigious water innovation awards in the same year is an extraordinary honour.
