The Australian Government (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, DFAT) and Australian Water Association (AWA) has extended the SkyJuice pilot innovative membrane water treatment technology program. The programme targets safe water in the rural areas in Son La and Khahn Hoa provinces, Vietnam. This successful, ongoing partnership has delivered 6 safe water installations to date. The initiative is part of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s InnovationXchange program.

Some of the previous outcomes of the program include;

  1. Installation of a water kiosk at Chieng Mai Community Hall providing 10,000L per day of safe drinking water
  2. Installation of a water tower at Chieng Mai Primary School, providing 10,000L per day of safe drinking water for the school
  3. Provision of 20 small membrane water treatment filters in locations of greatest community impact in Chieng Ban Commune.

The project scope includes SkyJuice manufacturing and providing its SkyHydrant equipment to provide no less than 10,000L drinking water per day in two schools in Suoi Tien and Dien Tan School of Dien Khanh district, Khanh Hoa province.

The most recent installations in June 2019 provided safe drinking water to 2 schools utilising the SkyJuice “SKYTOWER” installations. The partnership with the local water authority, PCERWASS, was a key success factor for maximising local fabrication and existing erection and commissioning of the two systems.

This partnership has demonstrated the feasibility to scale up in other rural areas of Vietnam as well as Cambodia and we hope to extend this partnership to other parts of Asia as well.
